No excuse

Well, it’s been a while since my last blog post.  I have no excuse.  Sometimes I’m just not that into….well, you know the saying.  Actually, I have thought about various blog topics a lot, I just don’t find my thoughts turning into words.  Which is really weird, because I usually have plenty to say.  Ask my husband, Kent.  Or my children.

Last week I was bitter all week because I had THREE packages stolen off my front porch.  THREE.  All delivered the same day, within a three hour period.  By three separate carriers.  There is no way FedEX, UPS AND the US Postal Service screwed up their deliveries.  Nope, somebody decided to take some things that did not belong to them and was no doubt disappointed with what they opened up.   Someone ended up with 50 birth announcements, a beautiful leather album of a family with a young baby, and some great black and white little baby blocks (new prop for the studio).   I am saddened that someone came up onto the porch and risked being seen in public and swiped these items.   My packages are now being delivered to the neighborhood UPS store, where each one is signed for and held safely until I can pick them up.   This wasn’t the first time this happened.  Two years ago I had some Christmas presents stolen off the step.  Outbound gifts for my family back in the midwest.  It was a heartbreaker in terms of searching for just the right gifts, lovingly wrapping them (anyone who has picked up Bugs and Butterflies portraits knows I take great care and pride in wrapping things) and then someone taking them right at the holidays…..what a bummer! OK, moving on…

I have had the opportunity to photograph some great families over the past 8 weeks.  I NEED to post some images but it’s late and I want to go upstairs and dive into a new container of Ben and Jerry’s Creme Brulee.  Seriously–has anyone tried this? I think I died and went to heaven the first time I tried it.  I was grocery shopping one day (which is a rare occurance for me) and decided to try a *NEW* flavor instead of my old standbys (Chunky Monkey and Cherry Garcia for those interested).  Well….! There is a NEW favorite on the block.  I LOVE Creme Brulee better than their other flavors and Kent has been buying me two tubs per week.  And dare I say that the two tubs do not last an entire week? Yikes.  It’s a good thing it’s winter :)

Anyway, I will write more next week and will DEFINITELY include a few images.

Oops! I forgot my highlight of last week.  Tanner, in his first season of playing roller hockey, scored 3 goals in last week’s game! A hat trick! Kent and I were more excited than he was.  He’s 8, so he was more excited after the game where he snapped his stick in half.   That may be because all his teammates think he’s ultra cool just because that happened to him.  They don’t pay attention to who scores what very much, but the BROKEN stick, well….that’s just REALLY cool.

OK, be back next week…..

P.S.  I have no idea how to fix the time stamp on my posts.  But it’s now 11 pm on Wednesday, not 10:55 am.
